ABOUT US

Founded to provide top coaching and training to all water polo athletes in the game of life.  We focus water polo training on current Olympic Development Program guidelines, supported by experienced coaches, guest training camps and consultation with ODP & National Team coaches.

We also teach leadership, comradery and hard-work over time, and we expect all athletes to seek continued growth in academics and team development.

OUR MISSION

RISE Water Polo seeks to be a positive influence to our members and the community through the sport of water polo…we encourage, grow and support our athletes and help them excel both in water polo and in the game of life!

Youth today are confronted with an endless barrage of challenges and opportunities.  In the limited time we have contact with athletes before they leave home, opportunities for personal growth and development must be seized.  Only 7% of high school athletes will play any level of college sports.  Thus, for most of our athletes, water polo is simply an adjunct to a busy life.  We will do everything possible to encourage, develop and grow these individuals.  For those who have developed exceptional water polo abilities and desire college opportunities in sport, we will do everything possible to encourage, develop and grow their prospects.

OUR CORE VALUES

COMMUNICATION

ACCOUNTABILITY

Communicate your needs, goals and feedback with your coaches and your teammates. Remember that communication also requires listening.

Be on time, work hard, ask questions, and help your team

RESPECT

It’s OK to disagree, but never belittle, degrade or talk poorly of another in a demeaning manner. When you disagree, come and speak individually to be heard and gather more information.

EFFORT

Always give your best effort.  No one can ask for more.

Coach Meredith

This upcoming year, she’ll step into the role of head coach for the CU women’s team while also coaching with RISE Water Polo. Meredith has a strong passion for working with kids of all ages and brings several years of coaching experience at the middle school level in California. She’s dedicated to growing the sport by sharing her enthusiasm and helping players build confidence, skills, and a love for the game. For her, the heart of water polo lies in its strong sense of community and teamwork—and her goal is to make sure every athlete has fun while learning and improving at RISE! After finishing her senior year at CU, Meredith plans to move to Europe and pursue a career in landscape architecture—and hopefully continue coaching and playing water polo long into the future!

Her collegiate career was nothing short of historic: she was a two-time all-conference performer and an Academic All-American. Natalie’s name is etched into the record books, holding 12 goalkeeping records at Monmouth, along with multiple records in Illinois and at her high school. After college, Natalie spent two seasons coaching high school girls in the Chicago area, specializing in the technical art of goalkeeping. She is also the Head Coach of the Arvada West (Colorado) High School Water Polo Team (winning the D2 division last year).
